Olopade et al. (1992) mapped the IFNA13 gene within the cluster of interferon genes on chromosome 9p22 by deletion mapping. By genomic sequence analysis, Hardy et al. (2004) mapped the IFNA13 gene to an interferon gene cluster on chromosome 9p21. They mapped the mouse Ifna13 gene to a region of chromosome 4C4 that shares homology of synteny with human chromosome 9p21.
