SOCS1 Antibodies, cDNA Clones Research Reagents

SOCS1 (Suppressor Of Cytokine Signaling 1) is a protein coding gene located on human chromosome 16p13.13. SOCS1 is also known as JAB, CIS1, SSI1, TIP3, CISH1, SSI-1, TIP-3 and SOCS-1. The human SOCS1 gene encodes a 23551 Da protein containing 211 amino acids. The SOCS1 protein is broadly expressed in appendix, lymph node and other tissues. Among its related pathways are Signaling by GPCR and Immune response IFN alpha/beta signaling pathway. SOCS1 is related to protein kinase binding and insulin-like growth factor receptor binding. SOCS2 is an important paralog of SOCS1 gene. SOCS1 is associated with some diseases, including Coronary Heart Disease 1 and Diabetes Mellitus, Noninsulin-Dependent.

    SOCS1 Background

Suppressor of cytokine signaling1 (SOCS1) is a widely recognized tumor suppressor gene. Silencing of SOCS1 expression as a result of promoter methylation is associated with occurrence and development of solid tumors such as liver, cervical and pancreatic cancer. Downregulation of suppressor of cytokine signalling-1 (SOCS1) is one of the vital reasons for JAK1-STAT3 pathway activation in acute myeloid leukaemia (AML). The DCs transduced with SOCS1 gene exhibit as DCregs through negative regulation of JAK2/STAT1 pathway and ameliorated lipopolysaccharide/d-galactosamine induced acute liver failure via inhibition of TLR4 pathway.
