PSMB6 Proteins, Antibodies, cDNA Clones Research Reagents

PSMB6 (Proteasome 20S Subunit Beta 6) is a protein coding gene located on human chromosome 17p13.2. PSMB6 is also known as Y, LMPY and DELTA. The human PSMB6 gene encodes a 25358 Da protein containing 239 amino acids. The PSMB6 protein is ubiquitously expressed in placenta, heart and other tissues. Among its related pathways are Regulation of activated PAK-2p34 by proteasome mediated degradation and Antigen processing-Cross presentation. PSMB6 is related to endopeptidase activity and threonine-type endopeptidase activity. PSMB9 is an important paralog of PSMB6 gene.

      PSMB6 Background

PSMB6 subunit belongs to the 20S proteasomal subunit family, which plays an importance role in the antigen presentation by MHC class I molecular. Proteasome subunit beta type 6 (PSMB6) is a member of 20S proteasomal subunit family, which forms the proteolytic core of 26S proteasome. PSMB6 knockdown decreased cellular viability under DM treatment. PSMB6 is associated with DM resistance in mosquitoes and that proteasome inhibitors such as MG-132 or bortezomib are suitable for use as a DM synergist for vector control.
