【1】The IP KIT contains anti-Transferrin Receptor / TFRC magnetic Beads (2 mg/mL) in phosphate buffered saline (PBS, pH 7.4) with sodium azide (0.1%).

【2】Using NP-40 cell lysate buffer in the kit is required,otherwise,the magnetic beads may be precipitated.

Anti-Transferrin Receptor / TFRC Magnetic Beads-IP Kit Product Description

The Anti-Transferrin Receptor / TFRC magnetic Beads, conjugated with Anti-Transferrin Receptor / TFRC antibody, are used for immuneprecipitation (IP) of Transferrin Receptor / TFRC proteins which expressed in vitro expression systems. For IP, the beads are added to a sample containing Transferrin Receptor / TFRC proteins to form a bead-protein complex. The complex is removed from the solution manually using a magnetic separator. The bound Transferrin Receptor / TFRC proteins are dissociated from the magnetic beads using an elution buffer.

Transferrin Receptor / TFRC Background Information

Transferrin receptor protein 1, also known as transferrin receptor, Trfr, p9, CD71 and TFRC, is a single-pass type II membrane protein which belongs to thepeptidase M28 family and M28B subfamily. TFRC / CD71 is a membrane-bound protein expressed in larger amounts in proliferating. The specific expression of TFRC can represent a diagnostic tool or a therapeutic target in solid tumours expressing this antigen. Transferrin receptor is necessary for development of erythrocytes and the nervous system. TFRC / CD71 is regulated by cellular iron levels through binding of the iron regulatory proteins, IRP1 and IRP2, to iron-responsive elements in the 3'-UTR. Up-regulated upon mitogenic stimulation. TFRC / CD71 represents a marker of malignant transformation in the pancreas that could be applied as potential diagnostic and therapeutic target.
