CD antigens expression in Dendritic cells

Dendritic cells (DCs) are a heterogeneous population of immune cells as professional antigen-presenting cells to T cells. The upregulation of cytokines, chemokines, co-stimulatory molecules, and adhesion molecules by the active dendritic cell is a critical part of the adaptive immune response. DCs surface CD antigens not only facilitate antigen uptake, but also mediate physical contact between dendritic cells and T cells. DCs precursors develop in the bone marrow.
