Mouse CD48 Protein Product Information
Synonym:Cd48, AI449234, AW610730, BCM1, BLAST, BLAST-1, BLAST1, Bcm-1, MEM-102, SLAMF2, Sgp-60
Protein Construction:A DNA sequence encoding the mouse CD48 (NP_031675.1) without the propeptide, corresponding to the amino acids (Met 1-Arg 216) was expressed with a C-terminal polyhistidine tag.
Expressed Host:Human Cells
Shipping:In general, recombinant proteins are provided as lyophilized powder which are shipped at ambient temperature.
Bulk packages of recombinant proteins are provided as frozen liquid. They are shipped out with blue ice unless customers require otherwise.
Mouse CD48 Protein QC Testing
Purity:> 85 % as determined by SDS-PAGE
Bio-Activity:1. Measured by its ability to bind human 2B4 in a functional ELISA.
2. Measured by its ability to bind biotinylated recombinant mouse CD2 in a functional ELISA.
Endotoxin:< 1.0 EU per μg of the protein as determined by the LAL method
Stability:Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -70℃
Predicted N Terminal:Phe 23
Molecule Mass:The secreted recombinant mouse CD48 consists of 205 amino acids and has a calculated molecular mass of 23.7 kDa. As a result of glycosylation, the apparent molecular mass of the recombinant protein is approximately 45-60 kDa in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions.
Formulation:Lyophilized from sterile PBS, pH 7.4
1. Normally 5 % - 8 % trehalose and mannitol are added as protectants before lyophilization. Specific concentrations are included in the hardcopy of COA.
2. Please contact us for any concerns or special requirements.
Mouse CD48 Protein Usage Guide
Storage:Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Reconstitution:A hardcopy of COA with reconstitution instruction is sent along with the products. Please refer to it for detailed information.

CD48/SLAMF2 Background

Cluster of Differentiation 48 (CD48), also known as SLAMF2, BCM-1 and BLAST-1, is a GPI-linked protein belonging to the CD2 subfamily of immunoglobulin superfamily molecules. CD2 and 2B4 (CD244) are known ligands for CD48. CD48 protein is expressed on most lineage-committed hematopoietic cells but not on hematopoietic stem cells or multipotent hematopoietic progenitors. CD48 protein performs biological functions in a variety processes including adhesion, pathogen recognition, cellular activation, and cytokine regulation, and emerges as a critical effector molecule in immune responses.
