VCAM-1 / CD106 Antibody Usage Guide
|
Specificity : |
Mouse VCAM-1 / CD106 |
| Western blot : | This antibody can be used at 0.1-0.2 μg/mL with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect Mouse VCAM1 in WB. Using a DAB detection system, the detection limit for Mouse VCAM1 is approximately 0.5 ng/lane under non-reducing conditions and 2 ng/lane under reducing conditions. |
| Direct ELISA : | This antibody can be used at 0.1-0.2 μg/mL with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect Mouse VCAM1. The detection limit for Mouse VCAM1 is approximately 0.00245 ng/well. |
| Storage : | This antibody can be stored at 2℃-8℃ for one month without detectable loss of activity. Antibody products are stable for twelve months from date of receipt when stored at -20℃ to -70℃. Preservative-Free. Sodium azide is recommended to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%-0.1%). It is toxic to cells and should be disposed of properly. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. |

VCAM-1 / CD106 Antibody Background
Vascular cell adhesion molecule 1 (VCAM1), also known as CD106, is a cell surface sialoglycoprotein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily. Two forms of VCAM1 with either six or seven extracellular Ig-like domains are generated by alternative splicing, with the longer form predominant. VCAM1 is expressed by a variety of cell types including activated endothelial cells, macrophages, dendritic cells, neurons, smooth muscle cells, fibroblasts, and oocytes. Up-regulation of VCAM1 in endothelial cells is induced by the cytokines IL-1β, IL-4, TNF-α and IFN-γ. VCAM1 is an endothelial ligand for very late antigen-4 (VLA-4) and α4β7 integrin expressed on leukocytes, and thus mediates leukocyte-endothelial cell adhesion and signal transduction. Accordingly, VCAM1 is thought to be involved in the extravasation or emigration of leukocytes in pathological immune responses and inflammation, and may plays a role in the development of atherosclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis.
