TLE3 Background
TLE3 (transducin-like enhancer of split 3), and several other members of the Gro/TLE family of groucho-related genes are expressed during pituitary development. The transducin-like enhancers of split are a family of mammalian proteins that share sequence homology with the Drosophila protein Groucho. TLE1 and TLE3 a have similar protein structure, and their patterns of expression during pituitary development are overlapping, but distinct. The groucho family member TLE3 is a transcriptional integrator of the PPAR? and Wnt pathways. TLE3 might also play roles independent of HESX1 by interacting with other transcription factors like PROP1.
