REG4 Protein Product Information

Synonym : REG4
Protein Construction:

A DNA sequence encoding the rat REG4(Q68AX7)(Met1-Pro157) was expressed, fused with a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus.

Source: Rat
Expression Host: Human Cells

REG4 Protein QC Testing

Purity: > 78 % as determined by SDS-PAGE SDS-PAGE:
SDS-PAGE

REG4 protein

Endotoxin: < 1.0 EU per μg of the protein as determined by the LAL method
Stability: Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -70℃
Predicted N terminal: Asp 23
Molecular Mass:

The recombinant rat REG4 comprises 146 amino acids and predicts a molecular mass of 17.3 kDa. The apparent molecular mass of  the recombinant protein is approximately 26-30 kDa in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions due to glycosylation.

Formulation: Lyophilized from sterile PBS, pH7.4.
  1. Normally 5 % - 8 % trehalose and mannitol are added as protectants before lyophilization. Specific concentrations are included in the hardcopy of COA.
  2. Please contact us for any concerns or special requirements.

REG4 Protein Usage Guide

Storage: Store it under sterile conditions at -70℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Reconstitution: A hardcopy of COA with reconstitution instruction is sent along with the products. Please refer to it for detailed information.

REG4 Protein Description

Regenerating islet-derived protein 4, also known as REG-like protein, REG4, GISP and RELP, is a secreted protein which contains one C-type lectin domain. REG4 is involved in inflammatory and metaplastic responses of the gastrointestinal epithelium. REG4 is highly expressed in the gastrointestinal tract including the duodenum, jejunum, ileum, ileocecum, appendix, descending colon, pancreas and small intestine. It is weakly expressed in normal colon and stomach and strongly expressed in most colorectal tumors than in normal colon. It is also preferentialy expressed in mucinous tumors and in some cases neuro-endocrine tumors. REG4 protein overexpression is associated with an unfavorable response to preoperative chemoradiotherapy and may be used as a predictive biomarker clinically. REG4 is also a promising tumor marker to screen early-stage Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), and neutralization of REG4 by the antibody may offer novel potential tools for the treatment of PDAC.
