REG3G / PAP1B Antibody Usage Guide
|
Specificity : |
Human REG3G / PAP1B |
| Western blot : | This antibody can be used at 1 - 2 μg/mL with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect human REG3G in WB. Using a DAB detection system, the detection limit for human REG3G is approximately 0.125 ng/lane under non-reducing conditions and reducing conditions |
| Direct ELISA : | This antibody can be used at 0.1 - 0.2 μg/mL with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect human REG3G. The detection limit for human REG3G is approximately 0.00245 ng/well |
| Storage : | This antibody can be stored at 2℃-8℃ for one month without detectable loss of activity. Antibody products are stable for twelve months from date of receipt when stored at -20℃ to -70℃. Preservative-Free. Sodium azide is recommended to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%-0.1%). It is toxic to cells and should be disposed of properly. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. |

REG3G / PAP1B Antibody Background
Regenerating gene (Reg), first isolated from a regenerating islet cDNA library, encodes a secretory protein with a growth stimulating effect on pancreatic beta cells. Reg and Reg-related genes which were expressed in various organs have been revealed to constitute a multigene family, the Reg family consisting of four subtypes (types I, II, III, IV) and are involved in cancers and neurodegenerative diseases. Regenerating islet-derived 3 gamma (REG3G), also known as pancreatitis-associated protein 1B ( PAP1B), is a member of the secreted Reg superfamily and contains one typical C-type lectin domain. REG III was expressed predominantly in pancreas, as well as in testis. REG3G might be a stress protein involved in the control of bacterial proliferation. It was indicated that REG3G specifically targets Gram-positive bacteria because it binds to their surface peptidoglycan layer, and serves as one of several antimicrobial peptides produced by paneth cells via stimulation of toll-like receptors (TLRs) by pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs).
