REG3A / HIP Antibody Usage Guide

• Specificity: Human REG3A / HIP
• Western blot: This antibody can be used at 0.1 - 0.2 μg/mL with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect human REG3A in WB. Using a DAB detection system, the detection limit for human REG3A is approximately 0.5 ng/lane under non-reducing conditions and reducing conditions
• Direct ELISA: This antibody can be used at 0.5 - 1 μg/mL with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect human REG3A. The detection limit for human REG3A is approximately 0.00245 ng/well
• Storage: This antibody can be stored at 2℃-8℃ for one month without detectable loss of activity. Antibody products are stable for twelve months from date of receipt when stored at -20℃ to -70℃. Preservative-Free.
  Sodium azide is recommended to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%-0.1%). It is toxic to cells and should be disposed of properly. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

REG3A / HIP Antibody Background

Regenerating islet-derived protein 3-alpha, also known as Regenerating islet-derived protein III-alpha, REG-3-alpha, REG3A, and HIP, is secreted protein which contains one C-type lectin domain. REG3A is constitutively expressed in intestine. Low expression of REG3A is found in healthy pancreas. It is overexpressed during the acute phase of pancreatitis and in some patients with chronic pancreatitis. REG3A and REG1A proteins are both involved in liver and pancreatic regeneration and proliferation. REG3A is also a stress protein involved in the control of bacterial proliferation. REG3A is down-regulated in most primary human gastric cancer cells, and might be useful in the diagnosis of gastric cancer. Further characterization of the REG3A, should lead to a better understanding of the changes occurring at the molecular level during the development and progression of primary human gastric cancer.
