• Preparation: Produced in rabbits immunized with purified, human cell-derived, recombinant human SerpinA5 (rhSerpinA5; Catalog#10309-H08H; aa 1-406; NP_000615.3). SerpinA5 specific IgG was purified by human SerpinA5 affinity chromatography.

Serpin A5 Antibody Usage Guide

• Specificity: Human SerpinA5 / Protein C inhibitor
• Western blot: This antibody can be used at 0.1 - 0.2 μg/mL with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect SerpinA5. Using a DAB detection system, the detection limit for SerpinA5 is approximately 1ng/lane under non-reducing conditions and 0.5ng/lane under reducing conditions.
• Direct ELISA: This antibody can be used at 0.5 - 1.0 μg/mL with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect SerpinA5. The detection limit for SerpinA5 is 0.039ng/well.
• Storage: This antibody can be stored at 2℃-8℃ for 1 month without detectable loss of activity. Antibody products are stable for twelve months from date of receipt when stored at -20℃ to -70℃. Preservative-Free.
  Sodium azide is recommended to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%-0.1%). It is toxic to cells and should be disposed of properly.
  Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Serpin A5 Antibody Background

SerpinA5, also well known as protein C inhibitor (PCI), is a member of the human serpin superfamily. It is synthesized in the liver and has been detected in saliva, cerebral spinal fluid, amniotic fluid, tears and semen. SerpinA5 acts as a potent inhibitor of the protein C anticoagulant pathway at the levels of both zymogen activation and enzyme inhibition. SerpinA5 inhibits a variety of serine protease including thrombin, factor Xa, several kallekreins and acrosin. It plays a critical role in the processes of blood coagulation and fertilization. SerpinA5 also inhibits urinary plasminogen activator (uPA), a mediator of tumor cell invasion, and regulates tumor growth and metastasis by inhibiting angiogenesis. It is a potent and direct inhibitor of activated HGFA (hepatocyte growth factor activator).
