Recombinant Human PRMT5 / SKB1 protein (Catalog#11074-H18H) |
| Antibody Type : | Mouse Monoclonal Antibody ( Mouse mAb Service Platform ) |
|
Clone ID : |
7F11F5D2 |
| Ig Type : |
Mouse IgG1 |
| Formulation : | 0.2 μm filtered solution in PBS with 5% trehalose |
| Preparation : |
This antibody was produced from a hybridoma resulting from the fusion of a mouse myeloma with B cells obtained from a mouse immunized with purified, recombinant Human PRMT5 / SKB1 (rh PRMT5 / SKB1; Catalog#11074-H18H; NP_006128.1; Ala 2-Leu 637). The IgG fraction of the cell culture supernatant was purified by Protein A affinity chromatography. |
PRMT5 / SKB1 Antibody Usage Guide
|
Specificity : |
Human PRMT5 / SKB1 |
| Western blot : | This antibody can be used at 1-2 μg/mL with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect Human PRMT5 in WB. Using a DAB detection system, the detection limit for Human PRMT5 is approximately 8 ng/lane under non-reducing conditions and reducing conditions. |
| Direct ELISA : | This antibody can be used at 0.5-1 μg/mL with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect Human PRMT5. The detection limit for Human PRMT5 is approximately 0.078 ng/well. |
| Storage : | This antibody can be stored at 2℃-8℃ for one month without detectable loss of activity. Antibody products are stable for twelve months from date of receipt when stored at -20℃ to -70℃. Preservative-Free. Sodium azide is recommended to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%-0.1%). It is toxic to cells and should be disposed of properly. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. |

PRMT5 / SKB1 Antibody Background
Methylation of arginine residues is a widespread post-translational modification of proteins catalyzed by a small family of PRMTs. The modification appears to regulate protein functions and interactions that affect gene regulation, signalling and subcellular localization of proteins and nucleic acids. Protein arginine methyltransferase 5 (PRMT5) is a member of the protein arginine N-methyltransferases (PRMT)family, and exists as at least homodimers and homotetramers, or homooligomers mediated by disulfide bonds and non-covalent association ubiquitously. PRMT5 specifically mediates the symmetrical dimethylation of arginine residues in the small nuclear ribonucleoproteins Sm D1 (SNRPD1) and Sm D3 (SNRPD3), and thus plays a role in the assembly and biogenesis of snRNP core particles. PRMT5 methylates histone H2A and H4 'Arg-3' during germ cell development, as well as histone H3 'Arg-8', which may repress transcription. PRMT5 also methylates SUPT5H and regulates its transcriptional elongation properties. Additionall.
