PLAUR / CD87 / uPAR Antibody Usage Guide
|
Specificity : |
Human PLAUR / CD87 / uPAR |
| Western blot : | This antibody can be used at 0.1-0.2 μg/mL with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect Human UPAR in WB. Using a DAB detection system, the detection limit for Human UPAR is approximately 1 ng/lane under non-reducing conditions and 0.5 ng/lane under reducing conditions. |
| Direct ELISA : | This antibody can be used at 0.1-0.2 μg/mL with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect Human UPAR. The detection limit for Human UPAR is approximately 0.00975 ng/well. |
| Storage : | This antibody can be stored at 2℃-8℃ for one month without detectable loss of activity. Antibody products are stable for twelve months from date of receipt when stored at -20℃ to -70℃. Preservative-Free. Sodium azide is recommended to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%-0.1%). It is toxic to cells and should be disposed of properly. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. |

PLAUR / CD87 / uPAR Antibody Background
Urokinase type plasminogen activator (uPA) receptor (uPAR) binds uPA and pro-uPA with high affinity and allows bound uPA to activate plasminogen. uPAR / CD87 is a highly glycosylated, 55-60kDa integral membrane protein linked to the plasma membrane by a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) anchor. uPAR / CD87 plays a critical role in the regulation of cell-surface plasminogen activation in physiological and pathological conditions, and it is also involved in cellular adhesion, the transmission of extracellular signals across the plasma membrane and the subsequent regulation of gene expression. The uPAR / CD87 has been implicated in several biological processes including angiogenesis, monocyte migration, cancer metastasis, trophoblast implantation, and wound healing. The human uPAR / CD87 shows 60-70% similarity with the murine uPAR amino acid sequence although binding of uPA to uPAR shows strong species specificity.
