InfluenzaA/ostrich/South Africa/AI1091/2006 H5N2Background

There are three types Influenza Viruses. The Influenzaviruses A, B and C are very similar in overall structure. Influenzavirus A is a genus of the Orthomyxoviridae family of viruses. Hemagglutinin (HA) and neuraminidase (NA) are the two large glycoproteins on the outside of the viral particles. H5N2 is a subtype of the species Influenzavirus A (avian influenza virus or bird flu virus). There are many subtypes of avian influenza viruses, but only some strains of four subtypes have been highly pathogenic in humans. These are types H5N1, H7N3, H7N7 and H9N2. Avian influenza, sometimes avian flu, and commonly bird flu, refers to "influenza caused by viruses adapted to birds. According to the concern of pathogenicity, there are highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) and Low pathogenic avian influenza (LPAI). In 2006, the Japanese researchers found that the avian influenza H5N2 infection from poultry may affect humans.

Sino Biological Inc offer Recombinant Hemagglutinin Protein from the A/ostrich/South Africa/AI1091/2006 (H5N2) for research aim.
