Influenza A/Xinjiang/1/2006 (A/Xinjiang/1/06) Background
There are three types Influenza Viruses. The Influenzaviruses A, B and C are very similar in overall structure. Influenza A virus is capable of rapid genetic change in mammals. Influenzavirus A is a genus of the Orthomyxoviridae family of viruses. Hemagglutinin (HA) and neuraminidase (NA) are the two large glycoproteins on the outside of the viral particles. Influenza hemagglutinin (HA) is a type of hemagglutinin found on the surface of the influenza viruses. HA monomers are synthesized as precursors that are then glycosylated and cleaved into two smaller polypeptides: the HA1 and HA2 subunits. There are at least 16 different HA antigens. Influenza neuraminidase exists as a mushroom-shape projection on the surface of the influenza virus. Nine subtypes of influenza neuraminidase are known. Influenza A viruses are classified into subtypes based on antibody responses to HA and NA. Influenza A virus subtype H5N1, also known as "bird flu", A (H5N1) or simply H5N1, is a subtype of the Influenza A virus which can cause illness in humans and many other animal species.
Sino Biological Inc offer Recombinant Hemagglutinin Proteins from the A/Xinjiang/1/2006 (H5N1) for research aim.
