GFRA1 Protein Product Information

GFRA1 Synonym: Gfra1,AU042498
Protein Construction: A DNA sequence encoding the extracellular domain ( Met 1 - Ser 425 ) of mouse GFRα1 isoform beta ( AAB86600.1 ) was expressed with a C-terminal polyhistidine tag.
Source: Mouse
Expression Host: Human Cells

GFRA1 Protein QC Testing

Purity: > 98%, as determined by SDS-PAGE SDS-PAGE:
GFRA1 protein

GFRA1 protein

Endotoxin: < 1.0 EU per μg of the protein as determined by the LAL method.
Stability: Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -70℃
Predicted N terminal: Asp 25
Molecular Mass: The secreted recombinant mouse GFRα1consists of 412 amino acids and has a calculated molecular mass of 46.3 kDa. As a result of glycosylation, the recombinant protein migrates as an approximately 55-60 kDa protein in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions.
Formulation: Lyophilized from sterile PBS , pH 7.4
  1. Normally 5 % - 8 % trehalose and mannitol are added as protectants before lyophilization. Specific concentrations are included in the hardcopy of COA.
  2. Please contact us for any concerns or special requirements.

GFRA1 Protein Usage Guide

Storage: Store it under sterile conditions at -70℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted and be used as soon as possible. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Reconstitution: A hardcopy of COA with reconstitution instruction is sent along with the products. Please refer to it for detailed information.

GFRA1 Protein Description

Mouse GDNF family receptor alpha 1 ( GFRα-1) is a glycosyl phosphatidylinositol (GPI)-linked protein that binds Glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) and neurturin (NTN) which are two structurally related, potent neurotrophic factors that play key roles in the control of neuron survival and differentiation. GDNF is a glycosylated, disulfide-bonded homodimer that is distantly related to the TGFβ superfamily of growth factors. Three receptors for these factors, GFRα-1, GFRα-2 and GFRα-3 have been identified. The receptors do not contain transmembrane domains and are attached to the cell membrane by GPI linkage. Both GFRα-1 and GFRα-2 have been shown to mediate the GDNF-dependent and NTN-dependent phosphorylation and activation of the tyrosine kinase Ret which is necessary for kidney and enteric neuron development. GFRα-1 is the primary receptor for GDNF and GFRα-2 exhibits a preference for NTN. GFRα-3 is expressed only during development. GFRα-1 gene is a candidate gene for Hirschsprung disease.
