FGFR4 / CD334 Protein Product Information

FGFR4 Synonym: Fgfr-4, Fgfr4, Mpk-11
Protein Construction: A DNA sequence encoding the extracellular domain ( Met 1 - Asp 366 ) of mouse FGFR4 ( NP_032037.2 ) precursor was fused with the C-terminal polyhistidine tagged Fc region of human IgG1 at the C-terminus
Source: Mouse
Expression Host: Human Cells

FGFR4 / CD334 Protein QC Testing

Purity: > 95 % as determined by SDS-PAGE SDS-PAGE:
CD334 protein

CD334 protein

Bio-activity:

Measured by its ability to inhibit FGF acidic ( aFGF / FGF1 ) dependent proliferation of Balb/c3T3 mouse embryonic fibroblasts
The ED50 for this effect is typically  30 - 40 ng/ml

Endotoxin: < 1.0 EU per μg of the protein as determined by the LAL method.
Stability: Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -70℃
Predicted N terminal: Leu l7
Molecular Mass: The recombinant mouse FGFR4/Fc is a disulfide-linked homodimer after removal of the signal peptide. The reduced monomer consists of 598 amino acids and has a predicted molecular mass of 67 kDa. In SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, the apparent molecular mass of rm FGFR4/Fc monomer is approximately 100-110 kDa due to glycosylation.
Formulation: Lyophilized from sterile PBS , pH 7.4
  1. Normally 5 % - 8 % trehalose and mannitol are added as protectants before lyophilization. Specific concentrations are included in the hardcopy of COA.
  2. Please contact us for any concerns or special requirements.

FGFR4 / CD334 Protein Usage Guide

Storage: Store it under sterile conditions at -70℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted and be used as soon as possible. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Reconstitution: A hardcopy of COA with reconstitution instruction is sent along with the products. Please refer to it for detailed information.

FGFR4 / CD334 Protein Description

Fibroblast growth factors (FGFs) and their receptors (FGFRs) influence a variety of physiological and pathological cellular processes, and different ligand/receptor pairs regulate cell growth in either a positive or negative manner depending on the cell type and stage of development. At least 22 distinct FGF ligands and 4 receptors (FGFR1–4) have been identified to date. Mouse FGFR4, also designated as protein-tyrosine kinase receptor MPK-11, is a member of FGFR subfamily of the tyrosine protein kinase superfamily. Mouse FGFR4 is originally isolated from fetal cerebellar RNA , and this type I  transmembrane glycoprotein contains 3 C2-type I g-like domains in the extracellular domain and a cytoplasmic tyrosine-kinase domain. The putative ligand for mouse FGFR4 is basic fibroblast growth factor , FGF6 and FGF19. Studies in FGFR4 null mice indicated that FGFR4 may be required for the development of skeletal muscle cell lineages, as well as effective muscle regeneration, and furthermore, it is also involved in cholesterol and bile acid metabolism and homeostasis.
