FGFR4 / FGF Receptor 4 Antibody Usage Guide

Specificity :

Mouse  FGFR4 / FGF Receptor 4

Western blot : This antibody can be used at 0.1-0.2 μg/mL with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect Mouse FGFR4 in WB. Using a DAB detection system, the detection limit for Mouse FGFR4 is approximately 0.5 ng/lane under non-reducing conditions and reducing conditions.
Direct ELISA : This antibody can be used at 0.5-1.0 μg/mL with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect mouse FGFR4. The detection limit for mouse FGFR4 is 0.00975 ng/well.
Storage : This antibody can be stored at 2℃-8℃ for one month without detectable loss of activity. Antibody products are stable for twelve months from date of receipt when stored at -20℃ to -70℃. Preservative-Free.
Sodium azide is recommended to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%-0.1%). It is toxic to cells and should be disposed of properly.  Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

FGFR4 / FGF Receptor 4 Antibody Background

Fibroblast growth factors (FGFs) and their receptors (FGFRs) influence a variety of physiological and pathological cellular processes, and different ligand/receptor pairs regulate cell growth in either a positive or negative manner depending on the cell type and stage of development. At least 22 distinct FGF ligands and 4 receptors (FGFR1–4) have been identified to date. Mouse FGFR4, also designated as protein-tyrosine kinase receptor MPK-11, is a member of FGFR subfamily of the tyrosine protein kinase superfamily. Mouse FGFR4 is originally isolated from fetal cerebellar RNA, and this type I  transmembrane glycoprotein contains 3 C2-type I g-like domains in the extracellular domain and a cytoplasmic tyrosine-kinase domain. The putative ligand for mouse FGFR4 is basic fibroblast growth factor, FGF6 and FGF19. Studies in FGFR4 null mice indicated that FGFR4 may be required for the development of skeletal muscle cell lineages, as well as effective muscle regeneration, and furthermore, it is also involved in cholesterol and bile acid metabolism and homeostasis.
