FGFR2 Protein Product Information

FGFR2 Synonym:

BEK, BFR-1, CD332, CEK3, CFD1, ECT1, FLJ98662, JWS, K-SAM, KGFR, TK14, TK25

Protein Construction:

A DNA sequence encoding the human FGFR2 (NP_000132.3) extracellular domain (Met 1-Glu 377) was fused with the C-terminal polyhistidine-tagged Fc region of human IgG1 at the C-terminus.

Source: Human
Expression Host: Human Cells

FGFR2 Protein QC Testing

Purity: >95 % as determined by SDS-PAGE. SDS-PAGE:
SDS-PAGE

Bio-activity:

Measured by its ability to inhibit FGF-acidic (aFGF / FGF1) dependent proliferation of BALB/3T3 mouse fibroblasts.
The ED50 for this effect is typically  3.7 ng / ml

Endotoxin: < 1.0 EU per 1μg of the protein as determined by the LAL method.
Stability: Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -70℃
Predicted N terminal: Arg 22
Molecular Mass: The recombinant human FGFR2/Fc is a disulfide-linked homodimer after removal of the signal peptide. The reduced monomer consists of 604 amino acids and has a predicted molecular mass of 67.6 kDa. In SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, the apparent molecular mass of rhFGFR2/Fc monomer is approximately 110-120 kDa due to glycosylation.
Formulation:

Lyophilized from sterile PBS , pH 7.4

  1. Normally 5 % - 8 % trehalose and mannitol are added as protectants before lyophilization. Specific concentrations are included in the hardcopy of COA.
  2. Please contact us for any concerns or special requirements.

FGFR2 Protein Usage Guide

Storage: Store it under sterile conditions at -70℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted and be used as soon as possible. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Reconstitution: A hardcopy of COA with reconstitution instruction is sent along with the products. Please refer to it for detailed information.

FGFR2 Protein Description

Fibroblast growth factor receptor 2 (FGFR2) is a member of the fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR) subfamily belonging to the Tyr protein kinase family, and amino acid sequence of which is highly conserved between members throughout evolution. FGFR family members differ from one another in their ligand affinities , tissue distribution and have been implicated in a multitude of activities. FGFR2 is a high-affinity receptor for acidic, basic and/or keratinocyte growth factor, depending on the isoform. This protein consists of an extracellular region composed of three immunoglobulin-like domains, a single hydrophobic membrane-spanning segment and a cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase domain. The extracellular portion of the protein interacts with fibroblast growth factors, setting in motion a cascade of downstream signals, ultimately influencing mitogenesis and differentiation. Mutations in the FGFR2 gene are associated with Crouzon syndrome, Pfeiffer syndrome, Craniosynostosis, Apert syndrome, Jackson-Weiss syndrome, Beare-Stevenson cutis gyrata syndrome, Saethre-Chotzen syndrome, and syndromic craniosynostosis.
