CD59a / MAC-IP Protein Product Information

Synonym : RP24-297H17.1, AA987121, Cd59, protectin
Protein Construction: A DNA sequence encoding the mouse CD59a (NP_031680.2) (Met 1-Lys 95) ,without the pro peptide, was fused with the Fc region of human IgG1 at the C-terminus.
Source: Mouse
Expression Host: Human Cells

CD59a / MAC-IP Protein QC Testing

Purity: > 92 % as determined by SDS-PAGE.  SDS-PAGE:
SDS-PAGE

CD59a / MAC-IP protein

Endotoxin: < 1.0 EU per μg of the protein as determined by the LAL method
Stability: Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -70℃
Predicted N terminal: Leu 24
Molecular Mass: The secreted recombinant mouse CD59a/Fc is a disulfide-linked homodimer. The reduced monomer comprises 313 amino acids and has a calculated molecular mass of 35.4 kDa. As a result of glycosylation, the recombinant protein migrates as an approximately 42 kDa band in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions.
Formulation: Lyophilized from sterile PBS , pH 7.4
  1. Normally 5 % - 8 % trehalose and mannitol are added as protectants before lyophilization. Specific concentrations are included in the hardcopy of COA.
  2. Please contact us for any concerns or special requirements.

CD59a / MAC-IP Protein Usage Guide

Storage: Store it under sterile conditions at -70℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Reconstitution: A hardcopy of COA with reconstitution instruction is sent along with the products. Please refer to it for detailed information.

CD59a / MAC-IP Protein Description

Mouse CD59A glycoprotein, also known as MAC-inhibitory protein, Membrane attack complex inhibition factor, MAC-IP, MACIF, Protectin and Cd59a, is a cell membrane potein which contains one?UPAR / Ly6 domain. CD59a / MAC-IP is expressed in all tissues examined (liver, kidney, spleen, thymus, brain and heart). Low levels of CD59a / MAC-IP is expressed in thymus. CD59a / MAC-IP is also expressed in mononuclear cells, erythrocytes and platelets. CD59a / MAC-IP is barely detected in neutrophils. CD59a and CD59b are both widely expressed in the kidneys, brain, lungs, spleen, and testis, as well as in the blood vessels of most mouse tissues. Testicular CD59a appeared to be expressed exclusively in spermatids, whereas CD59b was expressed in more mature sperm cells. CD59a and CD59b are expressed in multiple tissues, they may play some different roles, particularly in reproduction. CD59a / MAC-IP is a potent inhibitor of the complement membrane attack complex (MAC) action. CD59a / MAC-IP acts by binding to the C8 and / or C9 complements of the assembling MAC, thereby preventing incorporation of the multiple copies of C9 required for complete formation of the osmolytic pore. CD59 is a crucial complement regulatory protein that inhibits the terminal step of the complement activation cascade by interfering with the binding of C9 to C5b-8, thus preventing the formation of the membrane attack complex (MAC).
