  Immunochemical staining of human CD36 in human liver with rabbit polyclonal antibody(0.2 µg/mL, formalin-fixed paraffin embedded sections). Positive staining was localized to vascular endothelial cells. The left panel: tissue incubated with primary antibody; The right panel: tissue incubated with the mixture of primary antibody and antigen (recombinant protein).

• Western blot: This antibody can be used at 0.1 - 0.2 μg/mL with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect human CD36 in WB. Using a DAB detection system, the detection limit for human CD36 is approximately 0.5 ng/lane under non-reducing conditions and 16 ng/lane under reducing conditions
• Direct ELISA: This antibody can be used at 0.5 -1.0 μg/mL with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect human CD36. The detection limit for human CD36 is 0.0049 ng/well
• Storage: This antibody can be stored at 2℃-8℃ for one month without detectable loss of activity. Antibody products are stable for twelve months from date of receipt when stored at -20℃ to -70℃. Preservative-Free.
  Sodium azide is recommended to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%-0.1%). It is toxic to cells and should be disposed of properly. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

CD36 / GP3B / PAS-4 Antibody Background

Platelet glycoprotein 4, also known as Leukocyte differentiation antigen CD36, GPIIIB, GP3B, FAT, and CD36, is integral membrane protein found on the surface of many cell types in vertebrate animals. It belongs to the CD36 family and is found on platelets, erythrocytes, monocytes, differentiated adipocytes, mammary epithelial cells, spleen cells and some skin microdermal endothelial cells. CD36 has also been implicated in hemostasis, thrombosis, malaria, inflammation, lipid metabolism and atherogenesis. CD36 seems to have numerous potential physiological functions. It binds to collagen, thrombospondin, anionic phospholipids and oxidized LDL. It directly mediates cytoadherence of Plasmodium falciparum parasitized erythrocytes and binds long chain fatty acids. CD36 may also function as a cell adhesion molecule and in the transport and/or as a regulator of fatty acid transport. Defects in CD36 are the cause of platelet glycoprotein IV deficiency also known as CD36 deficiency. As a receptor for thrombospondin 1, CD36 plays a role in the regulation of angiogenesis, which may be a therapeutic strategy for controlling the dissemination of malignant neoplasms.
