CD21 Antibody Product Information
| Immunogen : |
Recombinant Human CD21 protein (Catalog#10811-H08H) |
| Antibody Type : | Mouse Monoclonal Antibody ( Mouse mAb Service Platform ) |
|
Clone ID : |
5G8G3 |
| Ig Type : |
Mouse IgG1 |
| Formulation : | 0.2 μm filtered solution in PBS with 5% trehalose |
| Preparation : |
This antibody was produced from a hybridoma resulting from the fusion of a mouse myeloma with B cells obtained from a mouse immunized with purified, recombinant Human CD21 (rh CD21; Catalog#10811-H08H; P20023-1; Met 1-Arg 971). The IgG fraction of the cell culture supernatant was purified by Protein A affinity chromatography. |
CD21 Antibody Usage Guide
|
Specificity : |
Human CD21 |
|
No cross-reactivity in ELISA with Human cell lysate (293 cell line) |
|
| Western blot : | This antibody can be used at 1-2 μg/mL with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect Human CD21 in WB. Using a DAB detection system, the detection limit for Human CD21 is approximately 8 ng/lane under non-reducing conditions.Use of this antibody under reducing conditions is not recommended. |
| Direct ELISA : | This antibody can be used at 0.5-1 μg/mL with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect Human CD21. The detection limit for Human CD21 is approximately 0.31 ng/well. |
| Storage : | This antibody can be stored at 2℃-8℃ for one month without detectable loss of activity. Antibody products are stable for twelve months from date of receipt when stored at -20℃ to -70℃. Preservative-Free. Sodium azide is recommended to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%-0.1%). It is toxic to cells and should be disposed of properly. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. |

CD21 Antibody Background
Complement receptor type 2, also known as Complement C3d receptor, Epstein-Barr virus receptor, EBV receptor, CD21 and CR2, is a single-pass type I membrane protein which belongs to thereceptors of complement activation (RCA) family. CD21 is tightly related to LFA-1 expression in (B-cell lymphoma) BCL and the absence of CD21 / LFA-1 expression is associated with pleural/peritoneal fluid involvement by BCL, a potential indicator of disease progression of BCL. CD21 / CR2 contains 15sushi (CCP/SCR) domains. CD21 / CR2 is a receptor for complement C3Dd, for the Epstein-Barr virus on human B-cells and T-cells and for HNRPU. CD21 / CR2 participates in B lymphocytes activation. Genetic variations in CD21 / CR2 are associated with susceptibility to systemic lupus erythematosus type 9 (SLEB9). Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic autoimmune disease with a complex genetic basis. SLE is an inflammatory, and often febrile multisystemic disorder of connective tissue characterized principally by involvement of the skin, joints, kidneys, and serosal membranes. It is thought to represent a failure of the regulatory mechanisms of the autoimmune system.
