CD200R Background

Cluster of differentiation 200 receptor (CD200R) / OX2 is a member of the Ig supergene family that is primarily expressed on myeloid cells. CD200R / OX2 is a cell surface glycoprotein receptor interacting with CD200 in order to regulate immune responses and it is described as an inhibitory receptor capable of regulating the activation threshold of inflammatory immune responses. It has been demonstrated that the CD200R can inhibit the activation of FcepsilonRI. There are four isoforms of the family: CD200R1, CD200R2, CD200R3, and CD200R4. Unlike the most of myeloid inhibitory receptors, CD200R does not contain a phosphatase recruiting inhibitory motif. CD200 transmits an immunoregulatory signal through CD200R to mediate microglia, while activation of microglia is associated with the pathogenesis and progression of Parkinson's disease.
