Background
Cynomolgus CD200R, also known as CD200 cell surface glycoprotein receptor, is a member of the CD200R family. Paired receptors are groups of closely related membrane proteins that have the potential to either inhibit or activate. The CD200R family consists of one inhibitory member, CD200R and various numbers of activating genes according to species with three defined in C57BL/6 mice. CD200 (OX2) is a broadly distributed cell surface glycoprotein that interacts with a structurally related receptor (CD200R) and is involved in regulation of macrophage function. CD200R is an inhibitory receptor mainly expressed on myeloid cells that down-modulates cellular activation. CD200R is differentially expressed on human and mouse T-cell subsets. In both species, CD4+ T cells express higher amounts of CD200R than CD8+ T cells, and memory cells express higher amounts of CD200R than naïve or effector cells. CD200R expression is up-regulated on both CD4+ and CD8+ T cells after stimulation. CD200R is also differentially expressed on B cells, with high expression on memory cells and plasmablasts.
