CD155 / PVR Antibody Usage Guide
|
Specificity : |
Mouse CD155 / PVR |
| Western blot : | This antibody can be used at 0.1 - 0.2 μg/mL with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect mouse PVR in WB. Using a DAB detection system, the detection limit for mouse PVR is approximately 1ng/lane under non-reducing conditions and 0.5ng/lane under reducing conditions. |
| Direct ELISA : | This antibody can be used at 0.5 - 1.0 μg/mL with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect mouse PVR. The detection limit for mouse PVR is 0.00245 ng / well. |
| Storage : | This antibody can be stored at 2℃-8℃ for one month without detectable loss of activity. Antibody products are stable for twelve months from date of receipt when stored at -20℃ to -70℃. Preservative-Free. Sodium azide is recommended to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%-0.1%). It is toxic to cells and should be disposed of properly. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. |

CD155 / PVR Antibody Background
CD155, commonly known as PVR (poliovirus receptor) and Necl-5 (nectin-like molecule-5), is a type I transmembrane single-span glycoprotein, and belongs to the nectins and nectin-like (Necl) subfamily. CD155 was originally identified based on its ability to mediate the cell attachment and entry of poliovirus (PV), an etiologic agent of the central nervous system disease poliomyelitis. The normal cellular function is in the establishment of intercellular adherens junctions between epithelial cells. Murine CD155 was first identified as an Mr approximately 66 kDa glycoprotein named Tage4 containing the conserved amino acids characteristic of members of the immunoglobulin superfamily. It was demonstrated in mice that the only available receptor for mCD96 present on thymocytes is mCD155 although mCD96 can also bind to nectin-1, a receptor related to CD155, Thus, CD96/CD155-interaction is preserved between human and mouse although both receptors are only moderately conserved in amino acid sequence, and the CD96/CD155-adhesion system performs a function in T cell biology and cell-mediated tumor-specific immunity.
