C1QBP / HABP1 Antibody Usage Guide

Specificity :

Mouse C1QBP / HABP1

Western blot : This antibody can be used at 0.1-0.2 μg/mL with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect Mouse C1QBP in WB. Using a DAB detection system, the detection limit for Mouse C1QBP is approximately 2 ng/lane under non-reducing conditions and 0.5 ng/lane under reducing conditions.
Direct ELISA : This antibody can be used at 0.1-0.2 μg/mL with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect Mouse C1QBP. The detection limit for Mouse C1QBP is approximately 0.00245 ng/well.
Storage : This antibody can be stored at 2℃-8℃ for one month without detectable loss of activity. Antibody products are stable for twelve months from date of receipt when stored at -20℃ to -70℃. Preservative-Free.
Sodium azide is recommended to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%-0.1%). It is toxic to cells and should be disposed of properly. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

C1QBP / HABP1 Antibody Background

Complement component 1 Q subcomponent-binding protein, mitochondrial, also known as GC1q-R protein, Glycoprotein gC1qBP, Hyaluronan-binding protein 1, Mitochondrial matrix protein p32, p33 and C1QBP, is a nucleus protein which belongs to theMAM33 family. Human C1QBP (p33, p32, GC1q-R, TAP) is a ubiquitously expressed, multiligand-binding, multicompartmental cellular protein involved in various ligand-mediated cellular responses. C1QBP is known to bind to the globular heads of C1q molecules and inhibit C1 activation. This protein has also been identified as the p32 subunit of pre-mRNA splicing factor SF2, as well as a hyaluronic acid-binding protein. Although expressed on the surface of cells, an intriguing feature of the membrane-associated form of C1QBP is that its translated amino acid sequence does not predict the presence of either a sequence motif compatible with a transmembrane segment or a consensus site for a glycosylphosphatidylinositol anchor. Moreover, the N-terminal sequence of the pre-pro-protein C1QBP contains a motif that targets the molecule to the mitochondria and as such was deemed unlikely to be expressed on the surface. C1QBP also interacts with HIV-1 Tat.
