FSTL1 / FRP Antibody Usage Guide
|
Specificity : |
Human FSTL1 / FRP |
| Western blot : | This antibody can be used at 0.1 - 0.2 μg/mL with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect human FSTL1 in WB. Using a DAB detection system, the detection limit for human FSTL1 is approximately 0.5 ng/lane under non-reducing conditions and 1 ng/lane under reducing conditions |
| Direct ELISA : | This antibody can be used at 0.5 -1.0 μg/mL with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect human FSTL1. The detection limit for human FSTL1 is 0.0049 ng/well |
| Storage : | This antibody can be stored at 2℃-8℃ for one month without detectable loss of activity. Antibody products are stable for twelve months from date of receipt when stored at -20℃ to -70℃. Preservative-Free. Sodium azide is recommended to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%-0.1%). It is toxic to cells and should be disposed of properly. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. |

FSTL1 / FRP Antibody Background
Follistatin-like 1, also known as FSTL1, is an activin-binding protein with similarity to follistatin. It contains an FS module, a follistatin-like sequence containing ten conserved cysteine residues, two EF-hand domains, a Kazal-like domain and a VWFC domain. This heparin binding protein is involved in the BMP signaling pathway, and may modulate the action of some growth factors on cell proliferation and differentiation. FSTL1 is thus suggested as a regulator of early mesoderm patterning, somitogenesis, myogenesis and neural development. FSTL1 is ubiquitously expressed in the majority of tissues in adult, with strongly expressed level in the mesenchymal component and excluded from the epithelium. In addition, this protein is thought to be an autoantigen associated with rheumatoid arthritis.
